Independence Day?

Happy Independence Day to those of you in the United States and Americans living elsewhere as well!

Random trivia this girl read :-

In a remarkable coincidence, both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence later to serve as Presidents of the United States, died on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration. Although not a signer of the Declaration of Independence, James Monroe, the Fifth President of the United States, died on July 4, 1831. Calvin Coolidge, the Thirtieth President, was born on July 4, 1872, and thus was the only President to be born on Independence Day.

Strange eh?

Anyway, happy Independence Day!

For this girl today may or may not mark the end of her Independence since there is some big news coming that will affect Grimly and his ability to move here so fingers crossed it all goes to plan its outwith anyone’s control now!

  1. I hope things work out. Sometimes it very feels like nothing is easy or goes smoothly, then things either drop into place or we adapt. You and Grimly were meant to be together.. One way or another you will find a way. Love kinda does that.

You two are in my thoughts. Don’t loose faith.

  2. we didnt’ get the news we wanted, still no idea when Grimly will be able to move in with me….looking likely we’ll be married and living 200 miles apart still. Irritating. Hopefully there is still a light at the end of the tunnel just dunno how long the bloody tunnel is!

I keep thinking about my gran though her husband was at the other side of the planet in the navy when she was not long married and communication was by letters which weren’t even delivered in order. He died when she was my age. Worse things happen eh

    Sorry i’m a bit bummed!

  3. Ohhhh, sorry to hear this :(((( Hopefully you will get something suitable worked out sooner rather than later. Big hugs from us both xxxxx

  4. thanks, options are being considered everything could change in 2 weeks as some other news that affects his work coming then!

    Oh the stress !

  5. I worked away from home in Italy on a contract for almost a year shortly after my partner and I had our son – it was really, really hard. That said it was actually a very positive thing – we proved to ourselves that we were resilient, and could overcome whatever life had to throw at us (and that even the most nervous of flyer can eventually get used to dodgy al’italia aircraft).

As horribly corny as it sounds, love really does conquer all – well, that and the fortnightly commute home to see them.

What I’m really trying to say in the above ramble is that it doesn’t matter how far you guys are apart, you’re always close because you each have something not many people find – a soulmate.

    And now, a beer 🙂

  6. Really sorry to hear the bad news – we so wanted it to happen for you. It’s a setback and a pain in the proverbial, but you were meant for each other and it WILL turn out right in the end, so don’t get too downhearted.
    Thinking of you both.

  7. We can think of very very few people that fit as well together and deserve to be together as you both do. And just to give a boost to the effort Grimly is putting forth to make your dreams come true, we send you both all the prayers and positives that we can.
    Things will turn out.
    Wendy and Jim

  8. thanks guys, we’re being positive and hoping it may end up leading to a better permanent outcome in the end so fingers crossed !
