As part of March Q&A month, the Handyman asked :
“I read your blog all the time, but never post until the annual March Q&A. I’m guessing this is common and you have a lot of web traffic. How many unique visitors do you get per day, week, month? Has the increase in traffic influenced your writing in any way?”
WordPress is quite good for explaining statistics actually. At the moment on average this girl gets about 600 unique views a day, and most of those people look at about 4-6 pages. Well most people need to look at two because of the home page which this girl chose to put on her blog a couple of years ago just to make it clear to anyone accidentally wandering across it what it was!
In 2012 the average page loads per day was 4,705 with just over 1.7 million page loads for the entire year. For all time it is about 5.4 million. So…a lot ;)
This girl has gone through phases of being obsessed with statistics, since it’s nice to see that people are out there reading things and taking interest.
However, how many of those read many articles or just look at the pictures? Or stumble here because of perhaps a key phrase that has occurred just on a couple of posts. (Anal hook and wooden pony are the most popular searches)
To be honest quality comments mean more, and so did the fact that readers took the time to vote for this girl in the bondage awards last year :)
Traffic has not really influenced *what* this girl has written about since she’s limited on that by what she’s experienced and what is on her mind at the time, but it has influenced perhaps *how* she’s written things and her use of pictures. At first this girl didn’t want to post any pictures but then gradually got more exhibitionistic but really as a result of just feeling more confident and a change of opinion about a few things.
The high statistics have sometimes made this girl feel obliged to try to keep things interesting and she does feel a sort of responsibility to keep those readers interested in her kink but also to inspire them to go and do their own thing as well.
This girl has tried making herself have a sort of posting routine but unless she has a queue of ideas ready in her head she finds that difficult, she’d rather write when she has something to say than because she has to, so thats why sometimes there will be a post every day and sometimes there will be one a week or so or at times less.
Ultimately this girl gets no financial reward or benefit to there being 10 or 100 or 1000 readers. All it does is massage the ego a little so it’s nice to have the recognition :)
Maybe her writing has changed over time but probably more just due to how her kink and relationships have changed rather than numbers on a screen.
However, YOU being out there is very much appreciated but a comment means so much more than a number :)
